How we do it.

First of all, thank you for considering Sean Casey & Associates, LLC for your project. This document will help you understand the way we work and form a clear idea of what to expect and what not to expect from us. This will let you make an informed decision about whether our services suit your needs or not.

Where to start?

You can use our On-line quote form to submit a description of your project and other relevant information. We will get back to you to discuss the possibilities, costs, time and other details.  

What will it cost?

After discussing the requirements for your project with you, we will eventually end up with a specification/description of what we will create for you and we will provide you with a final price quote for it. This price quote will be an accurate amount and it will represent the total cost of the project.

Note that we do not typically charge by the hour, or by any other variable measure, for programming, web development or training. We estimate for each project specifically how much effort we will need to invest and we give you a price for the final product. If our estimate is inaccurate, that will be our problem and not yours. We will not charge you anything more than what you agreed to pay. This way you can budget confidently, knowing in advance the cost of your project or training.

If you want additions to a project, they will be discussed and priced separately when you request them.  If you come up with a possible addition while the project is under development, please advise us as soon as you become aware of it. If it is something simple we might well do it at no extra charge. If it is not very simple, then we will agree on a surcharge for it, which will surely be much less than what you'd pay if you wait until after the project is delivered.

If you find out that you want to modify the specification of the project during development, make sure you tell us as soon as possible. Changes in the requirements may require a change in the cost.

Business consulting services may be charged by the hour if they do not involve a fixed set of requirements and/or deliverables.  We will work with you to determine if your project falls into this category, and will advise you up-front if that is the case.

Installation

We will install the final product on your server for free. You will need to provide us with the relevant access information and make sure that the various requirements of the project (we will tell you what they are) are met by your server. If your current server does not meet the requirements for installation we will demonstrate the project on a temporary installation on our own server, and can provide space on our servers should that be required.

Support

We will provide you with all the help you need to use and configure the product of our project. We will also respond to any problems caused by programming error and fix bugs or other nuisances should you find any while using it.

While our services do not include support other than mentioned above, we are always willing to respond to any questions or support-related email that may arise from a project we've done. We like to keep our customers happy and we do whatever we can to achieve this. You won't need to shell out money just to speak to us. We will provide help within reason.

If your project has special support requirements, feel free to tell us about them and we can propose a support contract on a monthly or hourly basis as appropriate.

When to send payment

Payment is made in two parts. You will pay 50% of the total price of the project upon agreement to begin development and the other 50% after the project has been completed.

A project is considered completed when its final product that fulfils the requirements/specifications as discussed and agreed upon with you has been installed on your system or demonstrated on our server, as appropriate. All agreed upon by-products - such as documentation or test data - are included.

We will issue an invoice via email. Please let us know of any particular information that you may want to appear on it.
